Danny Sullivan

September 14, 1955 - July 29, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY Danny Kevin Sullivan, 61, owner of City Glass OKC, died Saturday, July 29, 2017, at home, surrounded by his family, after a short illness. A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Lambuth United Methodist Church, 3823 S. Shields Blvd., in Oklahoma City. Born Sept. 14, 1955, in Coalgate, to Elizabeth and Jim Sullivan, Danny grew up in Boggy Depot and Atoka before his family moved to Norman. He graduated from Norman High School in 1973.Danny owned a service station on Main Street in Norman for a while before joining his father as a builder. Sullivan and Sons was responsible for the construction of many homes in Norman. In 1989, Danny bought City Glass OKC. He also owned and operated Chisholm's Country and Western Bar in Oklahoma City for a number of years. In the aftermath of the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, Danny and City Glass OKC were recognized for their efforts in helping clean up the site and restore glass at affected businesses. His brother Tim described Danny as a successful and generous man, an uncompromising man of his word who could design architectural masterpieces, pour the concrete, frame the structure, build the cabinets and trim, then decorate the interior so beautifully that no one would believe that it was done by a macho cowboy. His collection of close friends included ex-cons, white-collar lawyers, rodeo cowboys and gay cabaret musicians. He treated them all the same. He co-owned the Circle A Ranch with his brother Pat in Vian and together they shared a love of ranching, hunting and having adventures in the mountains. He quietly helped countless people who were not as fortunate as he was. His sister Heather recalls one of Danny's last requests before he died. He asked her to go say goodbye to one of his best friends who owned a gas station nearby. To her surprise, the friend was an Iranian immigrant, whose family was praying for Danny. The world is a better place because Danny was in it. He will live in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife, Teresa, of the home; a daughter, Natalie, whose mother is Cinda Sullivan, of Norman; his mother, Elizabeth, of Norman; a step-son, Eric, and his wife Corri; two step-daughters, Brittany and husband Mac, and Lacy and husband David; four brothers, Mike and wife Jan, of Tulsa, Dr. Pat and wife Suzanne, of Vian, Tim and wife Lorri, of Durango, Colo., and Shawn and wife Robin, of Blanchard; three sisters, KT and husband Steve, of New York City, Heather and husband Daniel, of Seattle, Wash., and Stacy and husband Jeff, of New York City; an aunt, Vicki Morrow and husband Tim, of Oklahoma City; step-grandchildren, Max, Landen, Oliver, Charlotte and Alice; 10 nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
