Lainie Russell passed away September 20, 2022 from stage 4 colon cancer. 
 

Wilson - Ms. Christia "Lainie" Elaine Russell, 67 of Wilson departed from this life on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK. Cremation services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson. There will be no public services.

Lainie was born August 26, 1955, in Wilson, OK to Mr. Wayne Edward Russell and Mrs. Pamela Faye (Burris) Russell. She was a long-time schoolteacher in both Texas and Oklahoma, most recently in Wilson, before retiring in 2021. Lainie was an elder of The Chickasaw Nation and was an avid beader of Native American jewelry.

Preceding her in death was her father, Wayne Edward Russell.

Lainie is survived by her mother, Pamela Russell; sister, Cynthia Russell; sons, David Cone, Christopher Cone and Liliana Renteria Mendoza, and Jason Russell Sr. and Ronna Russell; grandsons, Jamison Cone and Jason (JJ) Russell, Jr.; and by a host of other family and friends.
