NORMAN — Linda Kay Nelson, 57, of Norman, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. She was born July 13, 1955, in Lubbock, Texas, the baby of four children born to John Lawson Nelson and Ethel Mae (Teel) Nelson.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.

She grew up in Purcell and attended school there until moving to Norman while in high school. She graduated from Norman High School in 1973 and later attended the University of Oklahoma. Linda worked as a secretary for many years, both at OU and the Moore-Norman Vo-Tech, until her health declined and her disability forced her to retire.

Linda was a quiet person who always kept to herself. She was a gifted artist who enjoyed building and constructing arts and crafts. Linda took photography classes while in college, and her love of pictures carried her throughout life. She never missed an opportunity for the perfect picture and especially of old farm houses and barn scenes. She was a loving and kind person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Nelson.

Linda is survived by her husband, John Nelson of Norman; two sisters, Carol J. Nelson and Brenda J. Nelson, both of Norman; aunts and uncles; and a host of other family and friends.

Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home.
