Stephen Favors

Stephen “Steve” Eugene Favors was born November 18, 1954 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to William Eugene Favors and Arkey Helen (Price) Favors. After a valiant battle with cancer, he went to his heavenly home on November 3, 2020.
Steve was raised in Norman, Oklahoma and graduated from Norman High School in 1973 where he played baseball for the Tigers. He moved on to the University of Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Susan Ann Bede, in the Spring of 1976 and they married on July 31st, 1976. They raised their family in Norman where he was a devoted husband and father of three children. He was a committed supporter and participant in every interest in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He could always be counted on to be cheering you on from the sidelines and stands. He shared that same love and support for those with special needs in the community as a volunteer guardian and friend to all. Along with spending time with his family, Steve also enjoyed playing guitar and getting outdoors. He was an avid soccer fan, from EPL Club Arsenal, to the OKC Energy FC, to his grandsons Cosmos Team. Together with Sue they enjoyed traveling, live music venues, and ballroom dancing. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a dedicated servant for over 40 years. After spending many years in the telephone engineering industry, he went into computer programming and then continued his career as a manager of New Technologies at ECS. Throughout his life and in everything he did, he exemplified his favorite verse, 2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, B.A. Norman.
He is survived by his wife; Susan, sons; Jason Favors of Norman and Zachary Favors and wife, Katie of Norman, daughter; Emily Kimble and husband, Andrew of Yukon, OK, grandchildren; Devon, Andre, Angelica, Jace, Samuel, sister; Denisa Kier and husband, Larry of Norman, OK, furry companions; Mia and Bella, and a host of family and friends.
