CARLOTTA J WOOD

Carlotta (Best) Wood, 71, of Edmond, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2026. She was born on January 17, 1955, in Stillwater, Ok, to Norman (Bud) and Shirley Best. She married James (Jim) Wood on February 2, 1973.

Throughout her life, Carlotta enjoyed flower gardening at home, with her mother, daughter and sister. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and her most cherished title, grandmother. She has been greatly loved and respected by her family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who was blessed to know her. Always with a caring smile and demeanor, she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Carlotta was preceded in death by parents, Norman (Bud) and Shirley Best. Brother, Norman Glen Best Jr., and nephew, Norman (Ford) Reno.

Carlotta is survived by husband Jim Wood. Daughter, son-in-law and family; Kristi, Casey, Elli and Sadie Robinson. Son and family; Josh, Asher and Asa Wood. Sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Sterling Markel. Along with many other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held at Matthews Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a burial to follow at Carney Cemetery in Carney, OK at 3:30 p.m.
