Sperry, OK -- Daniel C. Kennedy, 42, teacher and coach, died Saturday, May 10, 1997.  Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, 1997 at Sperry High School. Johnson Funeral Home handled the service..
 

Here is an email received from Dan's wife:

I married Dan in May of 1988. He had a son, Joshua; and I had two daughters,
Jennifer and Jamie. We had another son the following year, Caleb; and another
daughter, Kelsey in 1991. We met in Chandler where we were both teaching. I was
an elementary teacher and he was a high school teacher and girl's basketball
coach. We moved to Sperry right after Caleb was born and were still teaching
there when he passed away on May 9, 1997. Caleb was only 7 and Kelsey was 5. He
taught High School English and was devoted to his students, basketball players
and his family. He loved to play golf and spend time with his family. He became
ill in January 1997 and never got to return to school. I am also emailing a
couple of news articles from the Tulsa World that will give you a peek into his
personality and dedication to his teaching/coaching career. As you know, he was
very passionate about life and lived
it to the fullest, always bringing fun and laughter into whatever he was doing.
He is still greatly missed.
