On Sunday (4/5/26) night my mom Lori Brown passed away after her hard fought battle with Ovarian cancer. She fought like a girl the entire time. She was diagnosed late in 2025 and I never thought I’d have to be making this post so soon.

On Thursday she made the decision to stop treatment because this version of chemo post surgery really took everything out of her. As hard of a decision as that was we knew she’d made the best decision for her and her life. We thought we’d have months with her not days but she fought as long as she could.

Sunday I spent the day with her watching our favorite Disney Movies; Mary Poppins, Fox and the Hound, Winnie the Pooh, and Mulan (I picked a movie from every decade to watch). I’d like to believe that I gave her a great day not knowing it would be our last together.

On Saturday the 11th we will be holding a celebration of life at our house at 1pm. In lieu of flowers (I’m allergic) we are simply asking you to bring yourself to celebrate my mom.

I know a lot of y’all loved my mom at different stages of her life from childhood friends, to co-workers, to her being your teacher and she loved each of you dearly!
