"July 3, 2023, my uncle Vic McGowen died yesterday from a swift battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and we were fortunate to share in his quick wit humor to the end. Vic had some struggles in life but he chose to work on those struggles through his commitment to his sobriety and devotion to the Western AA Club of OKC. He was a beloved member. He told me it saved his life. His spirituality was lived in sober community and I give thanks to God for the gift that was for him and us. I was honored to pray last rites with him and our family to give him back to his Maker."
